Soil Analysis and Fertilizer
Fertilizer spreading and soil analysis is vital to maintaining the healthy status of your paddocks. Fertilizers promote plant growth by replenishing salts and minerals that have been absorbed by the grass. Roots are stimulated which means the sward density will increase and this will help to suppress weeds.
Before adding fertilizers, it is worthwhile carrying out a soil analysis to determine the PH balance and nutrient levels. If your soil fertility is poor, the grass will be sparse and weeds will be present. For example, an abundance of buttercups is an indication that the PH balance is low.
Therefore, a soil test will soon tell us what your soil needs, and we can then add the correct fertilizer or lime, as appropriate.
We use mounted fertilizer spreaders on our compact tractors and these are calibrated to spread fertilizer across a 12-meter width.
